Wow!!

  It is been awhile since I posted on here.  Life has just been busy for me lately, with many challenges.  But I should be back posting very soon.  Especially, since I finally remembered my password. 

 Emily last year (2011/12) .   Now my jv cheerleader wants to go on to do varsity football and wrestling next year as a sophmore.  .  After her episode of concusion and seizure,this year, I am a little uncertain..  bubble wrap???

      Calista Eva Ann Mead.  8lbs 4oz  20 inches long.  1:28pm, Thurs November 15th.
 She is our first grandbaby.  She is a very happy baby, unless she is hungry, or it is bathtime. She doesn`t like baths at all, and she will let you know......

Summer fun,,,

July 1st,  what a good way to start the month!  We took the family out on the speed boat for the first time this year.

 Even I got in on the fun. (no stunts from me though)



  I got thrown off the bobsked. Needed the refreshing dip, but could of done without
swallowing a mounthful of lake water YUCK!

 This was our first time river paddling, it was alot different than lake paddling.  We started on snake river and ended up on the St. Croix.

Besides getting stuck in that tree,  everything went good.  The current was very fast right here, then the river was calm for a bit, then came several rapids, which concerned me at first, but  I did ok , everyone got soaked!!!   Amanda and Ben had 4 inches of water in their kayak (tandem) good thing I brought the pump with us..........Oh, this is where we put in at.

 This is one of the calmer areas.  We saw lots of wildlife.

Thats my daugter Amanda.  Nice baby bump she has going on!!!!!!   Of course our grandchild will be introduced to paddling, the whole family enjoys it, (except for Emily....)  but she hasnt been down river yet. ,,,,                    

Mothers Day

We got Emily out for Mothers Day paddle. It was fun, we met up with some friends, and took a little walk at Hickory Ridge. Hopefully avoiding the poison ivy, that stuff really doesn`t like me

  Someone before us at Hickory Ridge got a little creative........

Mark and my children gave me lots of cards and a new rocking chair, so I can rock my new grandbaby in a few more months,,,,,, : )

First kayak outting this year,,,,

Attempting on going through a little cave.  I did make it through, without bumping up the kayak.  Paddling back to Elk Rock, we saw the beginning of a beautiful sunset.

  Flower Power,  a play about HS students in the 60`s trying to have a battle of the bands, protests, liberation, etc.  She was a member of the Darnette band.

  Took a few days off work and took the kiddos to a waterpark/motel.  It was ok, the kids really enjoyed it.  Have to admit, the waterslides were fun, but I was only able to go down a couple times,,,,,,,

Fall paddling

  It was a beautiful day out yesterday for paddling.  Lots of fall colors.  Sad thing is that was probably the last paddling outting for the season.  I am not experenced enough, nor do I have the proper cold water clothes.  I have yet to understand why padlle when it is so cold,,,you are so bundled up how can a person even move to paddle??  I just am not a cold weather person,,,, so until spring or we go to Fl, I will have to wait it out.

Decisions!!!

PADDLE or POWER?????
 We took both, but used the power boat. Till my shoulder gets better.  But with the calm water, the temptation to get the kayak out was almost overpowering...but the soreness kept telling me "NO". So I was a good girl and did what my shoulder said, and not what I wanted to do.
  Of  course, it rained on us Sunday, so our little outting was cut short.  Thats twice this year we went camping, and both times it stormed. There is a few pictures below of the camping experence.

 GOOD MORNING!!!!  Wow, that was a short night. But it had a beautiful display of stars.

Lake Superior, Duluth MN

Our trip to WI and MN, led us to Duluth MN.  There was just a couple people in the water, I stepped in and found out why, BRRRRRR!!
